The result is a fascinating chemistry of disparate musical elements that somehow synthesize and produce a spirited, healing elixir.

Think "O Rufus, where art thou?"

Reviews:
Buddy Greene is one of those guys that have it all: writing chops, singing chops, and playing chops. This CD is for anyone who loved "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" or any kind of acoustic folk music. It's worth the purchase just to hear the opening cut--his version of "Sally Good'n"....it's fiddle music channeled through the harmonica! Amazing.

I have just treated my ears to the new album "Rufus" by Buddy Greene. Buddy is not only a great harp player, (I ought to know) but a fine singer and interpreter of songs. With some of Nashville's finest musicians helping out, "Rufus" made me smile all over. Congratulations Buddy, you've done it again.

Absolutely wonderful! "Rufus" captures a combination of simple truths, reverence for the Creator God, and a charming perspective on life. Throughout it contains a certain smile – a Buddy Greene trademark. You also give a platform and great latitude to a great supporting cast who perform remarkably. I am hard pressed to pick favorite cuts – though Working, Cluck, Kinfolk, Cryin' Holy, Walkin', Beggar and Rock in a Weary Land certainly do jump out. Not a weak cut among 'em. From blues to elation – something fresh is brewing in Rufus' soul. It feels genuine and restless.

What a stroke of luck it was to have Rufus become a member of my band! Not only because he can play mean rhythm guitar and sing like a bird, but he is an absolute virtuoso on that harmonica. Naturally it wasn't very long 'til I started using him on my recording sessions. I ain't no dummy! I'm delighted that he's stepping out now and doing his own thing, and when you hear him you're gonna love him!
